It's the MOST..... wonderful tiiime.... of the year!

Don't u just LOVE Christmas time.....i do :)  i get real excited and have been known to play Christmas music in my car [on the school-run] as early as September  :o  and  :o  again.... i have even put up our Christmas tree in October [once] lol  :D  but in my defence.... it was because Bianca-Leigh was [for the first time] old enough to really appreciate IT ALL she must have been about 3 or 4 years old  :)  I count myself lucky to have had the fun of enjoying those wonderfully Christmasy sights and sounds with 3 children...like the time Santa forgot his hat in our house [very strategically placed] where Brandon would find it....that same Christmas... Santa exited our house via the glass sliding-door leaving it slightly open and on his way out.... kindly set up our new swing-ball set in the back yard  :D  Brandon just loved it!  :D  Christmas 2010 we 'got' an sms from Santa to say that he had just dropped off our gifts in the back yard at my Mom's place..... along with the sms...we pretended to 'hear' someone outside.....lol  Bradley who marches to the beat of his own drum [as do all my kids]  was so afraid that he cried and clung to me as if his life depended on it  :D  and even this past Christmas Eve.... he seemed at first VERY EXCITED but as day turned to night...he also seemed to become a little afraid. One-of-a-kind! my little son  :-*
As a grown-up i find that i am always trying to re-capture those wonderful feelings i had as a child around the holidays...the smell of a real pine tree in our lounge was a treat!!...the flashing lights and tree decorations....it was to put it simply....... 'the most wonderful time of the year'  :D

We're all going on a....Summer Holiday....

I am sure all will agree that the bucket and spade are without a doubt the quintessential items for fun at the beach :)  i fondly remember my first day of school holidays [at the sea in Durban as a child]  we would leave the hotel and walk down towards the sea.... on our way we would pass the CNA in West Street and further down on the same side of the street u came across the little shops that sold buckets, spades and those fishing nets that all kids love....i do not know what else was sold there... i never cared enough to find out....it was the buying of my bucket and spade that was my only concern  :D  further down on the opposite side of the street was a Kodak Photo Shop but this is beside the point  :)  This time [as always] we promised Bradley that we would buy him a bucket and spade as soon as we arrived at our holiday destination.... this year Bradley had a very clear idea of what he wanted - YELLOW was the colour on his mind and so yellow it was....i could not have chosen better! after all yellow is a sunny, happy colour guranteed to make one smile  :)
