Wow!... Hello again :)
This week the topic was mine and i had a blast shooting for...
FIRE IN THE SKY
This is my story...
At first i loved the topic [as an idea]...
I must be a 'romantic' kinda girl :)
i liked the wording...!
Pretty quick into it...
i realized that the best shots
would NEED to be taken...
at dusk or dawn...
Mmmm....!
PROBLEMS ?
#1
Our lovely winter weather this week has not provided much
in the way of clouds on the canvas of the sky...
Clouds help to make for the most beautiful shots esp
at sunset...
#2
Then it 'dawned' on me... lol
on the school-run...!
part of the route we take is quite pretty...
as the sun rises up out of blackness to begin yet another
cycle of blessings for us...NOW that would make a good shot !
just 1 little problem...
i can't shoot all that fabulous-ness while driving !!?
Can i ??
NO! i am too sensible to try...? am i not...?weell...maybe a quick try...?!
Scratch that idea...too distracting by far to take photos and drive !
I am a 'safety first' kinda person after all!!!
and i am honest too - Bianca can't shoot for me...that just would not be right :)
SO...
What to do...?
ASK husband to go in to work late...and chauffeur us to school on friday morning
allowing me to shoot to my hearts content...
he said no...he works! and can't take 'off ' for such trivial stuff...
[I am ad libbing like crazy here u understand] but that was the just of it lol
And sooo...
If asking doesn't work...TELL !
I woke the whole family up at 6:20am on saturday morning :o
and we took that 'chauffeured' ride to school :)
Ed being very proper got dressed...
the rest of us....
not so much...proper or dressed lol
[they actually put up very little resistance - maybe they knew resistance was futile :)
*wicked smile*
#3
Wouldn't u just know it!!....
It was a mistier start to the day than we've recently had...
and timing is everything u know ! esp with the sunrise !
But...
Thanks to my chasing Edwin through his getting dressed...we were early !
which is way better than being late, hey :)
So we were able to stop along the way and i could get pixel-happy...
And i think...
I GOT MY SHOT :)
thanks ed...there are not many husbands who would put up with all my crazyness
u da best :-*
The Vaal River as dawn is about to break...
As something is about to happen... i hold my breath...
Almost here...
At last ! she makes her fiery appearance...
If you have ever watched the sun rise..
it happens fast hey !
Peeping :)
Pouring :)
What i 'like' about this shot...
it looks as though the sun is being poured from that broken branch
Hiding :)
I luv this shot!
It is really thrilling to go through all the shots u have taken...
and find the ones that take your breath away...
Fire in the Veld...
Thankfully not but in this shot there is that illusion...
helped along by the 'glow' and the mist :)
Over the top...
And under again...chasing my luminosity shot :)
Approaching the bridge...
Looking at this shot...i found myself wondering...
if the people in that car are even aware
of the beauty of this dawn...?
Going through...!
one becomes almost swallowed up by the suns golden hue...
The world as we know it TOTALLY transformed...
only for a short while...
a fire-storm...
I smile when i look at this shot...
looks like these 2 trees are trying...
to stop this molten orb from floating... away...
impossible ...!
This amazing 'fire in the sky' bathes EVERYTHING...
the good the bad and the ugly... in her golden heat...
she is not distracted from the job at hand...
as we humans so often are...
this fire-ball was given 1 job to do by our Creator
and she will not desist until...
He
that created the heavens and the earth gives another command...
There is no 'Google Shot' this week :(
i thought the sun too hot for her to handle
and left my kitten-cat at home ;)
My 'Weekend Shot'...
This is how our early morning adventure out chasing the sun ended...
take-away coffee to really start our day right!
not bad ... not bad at all :)
Random shots i took this week...
because the topic is always on my mind :)
A different 'take' on fire in the sky :)
Why not ...!
because...without the sun...
we would have none of these
:)
THE END
As for Merita....
These photos were
taken in the morning on the way to school, not impressed that the mirror is in
the way but love the way the rays of the sun are shining through.
Literally looks like
the sky is on fire, taken at Old Vaal at Romario’s soccer practise, as the sun
is setting.
Merita's 'Weekend Shot'...
This
is what happens when husbands don’t listen and children crash into your car
with their bicycles, but of course she wouldn’t scratch it with the handle bar
that has a rubber over the handle.
Luckily she didn’t hurt herself.
That's it from us :)
What on earth could be next....?
:)
